Job Description

  1. Supervise the collection team: Provide guidance, support, and coaching to a team of collection staff. Monitor performance, and ensure the team meets established targets and objectives.
  2. Manage collection activities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, including monitoring delinquent accounts, implementing collection strategies, and ensuring compliance with collection policies and procedures.
  3. Develop and implement collection strategies: Analyze delinquency trends, evaluate collection strategies, and develop effective approaches to maximize recovery rates while minimizing losses. Collaborate with other departments to optimize collection efforts.
  4. Handle complex cases: Handle escalated or high-value delinquent accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and coordinate legal actions, if necessary. Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. Conduct analysis and reporting: Monitor and analyze collection data, prepare regular reports on collection performance, and provide recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation.
  6. Relationship management: Build and maintain relationships with customers, and external partners such as collection agencies or legal counsel. Ensure effective communication and collaboration to facilitate successful collections.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to collections. Implement necessary adjustments to collection strategies and processes to ensure compliance and optimize results.

Job Requirement

Education: Bachelor's degree in banking, finance, business administration, or law (preferred).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in collections within the banking industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of collection laws, regulations, and practices.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

·         Proficiency in using collection software and MS Office applications.

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
